We’re Escaping to the Country!

You may have noticed we have been a bit quiet on the Social Media and Newsletter front lately. After our holiday to Turkey in July we made a BIG, life-changing decision.

We originally set out a 5-year-plan in 2017 after a lovely trip to Wales, aiming to eventually move there for a more relaxed way of life. Over the last 12 months we have been very lucky in that all the barriers to us making the move have disappeared and we now have the freedom to pursue our dreams much earlier than we expected.

So we put our house on the market a few weeks ago…and it very surprisingly sold within a week! ? So then the hunt began for our perfect rural dream home in Wales…and the third house we viewed was “The One”  – a beautiful barn conversion set in 4 acres with views over the Teifi Valley below. We have had the sale agreed and pending the usual legalities etc. we should be moving within 8-12 weeks (chain permitting). *Update – we are moving in mid-March 2020*

So what happens to Mighty Aphrodite? Well, our first plan was to give up shooting boudoir as obviously when we move we will no longer have our dedicated studio space. But the property we are buying has such a perfect spot to build an even better studio than we have now that we have decided that continuing with Mighty Aphrodite may still be an option. If we do decide to offer boudoir shoots, they will be limited to 2 or 3 per month because we want to diversify and do other things and more photography workshops (as well as spend lots of time exploring our new location).

Our new home in west Wales is not as easily accessible as our current location in Reading – but as our current clients often travel several hours to come for a shoot we are hoping that some of you will still make the journey. And with this in mind, the place we are buying has two gorgeous self-contained holiday cottages on site – so future clients can combine a boudoir shoot with a mini break to a stunningly beautiful part of the country.

We will be perfectly situated in idyllic countryside with amazing views. We have the spectacular Brecon Beacons to the east, beautiful beaches and pretty seaside towns to the west, breathtaking lakes and mountains to the north and magnificent forests to the south all within a 30-40 minute drive.

We are in love with this unspoilt area of Wales – most people go to Snowdonia or Pembrokeshire, but mid-Wales has so many awesome places to explore. So if you don’t want to come for a Boudoir Shoot then maybe come and stay in our cute holiday cottages for a break!

If you have had a shoot with us but have not yet had your edited pictures, don’t worry – we have your pictures safely archived and will still be able to produce albums, books and all our usual products even after we move.
