Robyn’s Story

My husband has always fancied having a boudoir style picture of me on our bedroom wall, and as a surprise for Christmas I suggested we look for a suitable photographer. With great enthusiasm he went searching the internet and came back with several options, but only one really stood out – ‘Mighty Aphrodite’. The website pictures looked great, and although many were more revealing than I had in mind I was reassured by the comments from other customers that you could show as little or as much as you wanted. My husband also suggested, as we had to travel all the way from Inverness, we make a weekend of it and book one of the featured cottages available to rent. We ended up booking a weekend at Woodpecker Cottage and loved the tranquillity of the location and how easy it was to get to the studio on the Saturday morning.

On the day of the shoot I was naturally a bit nervous, but after sitting with Zena and Leigh, who explained how the shoot would work, I began to relax. The studio was lovely and my husband was able to get comfortable on a big leather couch where he could watch me being photographed.

The shoot itself was very enjoyable, and Leigh gave me lots of direction and encouragement to help get some beautiful images. Zena ensured the lighting levels were perfect and made a point of showing me on a big screen how the photographs were looking, which helped build my confidence. To start Leigh took lots of photographs of me in various lingerie sets, and when he felt I was comfortable he asked me if I wished to have any topless or fully nude images taken. By then I was into the swing of it and any nerves had gone so I just went for it – and am so glad I did as the images he produced made me look, in the words of my smiling husband, ‘stunning, sexy and super-hot’.

At the end of the shoot I asked my husband for his thoughts, and he said that after our wedding day it was one of the most enjoyable experiences he ever had. In fact he had such a good time he has already suggested we book another shoot next year using different sets and has even offered to buy me some new lingerie and treat me to another relaxing weekend break in one of the cottages!

All in all our weekend was a great experience. We had a lovely peaceful cottage, a fun time and left with 250 fantastic low resolution images, from which my choice of ten would be airbrushed for us to have enlarged. Zena also informed me that I would be sent a link should I wish to leave a review, along with a few of my photographs taken on the day. If she had suggested this before my shoot I would have definitely said “no” as I was not ready to let my photographs become available for people to view on their site. However, after discovering how good Leigh had made me look, I changed my mind. My husband and I were so pleased with the images that we felt that I had an opportunity to  encourage other women, through my review and photographs,  to embrace their natural beauty. Thank you Leigh for making the most of what Mother nature gave me.
