FAQs About our Move to West Wales
Yes we’re still in Reading – conveyancing takes a loooong time when you are buying a complicated property! ? But the delay has meant we have managed to squeeze in most people who wanted to book a boudoir shoot or workshop before we escape to our new home in Mid-West Wales.
We’ve had lots of emails asking questions about the move, so I wanted to put all the info in one place so it is easier for people to find. Here are a few FAQs about what is happening with Mighty Aphrodite.
Q: When are you moving?
I wish we knew! Currently the estimate is the week before Christmas, but if we hit any more delays that will probably change to the first week in January. *Update – we are moving in mid-March 2020*
Q: When will your boudoir studio in Wales be up and running?
We are aiming to be up and running by the end of March 2020. We have a lot of work to do – build the studio then fit it out. We are already designing the layout and studio sets and we have some very cool new ideas – we can’t wait to get building. *Update – because of the long delays with our move, and Coronavirus Lockdowns, predictions for having the studio ready are now around May 2021*
Q: When will I be able to book a date for a Boudoir Shoot?
We will announce here on our Blog and in our Newsletters when the diary is open for advance bookings so watch this space and sign up to get our news straight to your inbox by filling in the form below this post ? N.B. We will be limiting the number of shoots in our new studio to one per week so do plan ahead!
Q: What will the new studio be like?
It will quite a bit bigger than the space we currently have and will be split into studio and office, but all on one level (no spiral staircase this time). We will still be able to shoot most of our current studio sets, although we have decided to lose a couple of the less popular options and replace them with some new ideas. We will have a natural daylight area which will be really useful for our photography workshops. Leigh is designing some clever ways of using the space with a variety of settings so that we can offer some very different styles. He will be documenting the process on his Tutorial Blog: LeighPerkins.com so it will be a great way to see behind-the-scenes and get some tips on studio design if you are a boudoir photographer.
Q: Will you still be offering Hair & Make Up?
Yes we will. Unfortunately we can’t take our wonderful MUA Catherine with us ? So we are on the lookout for new hair stylists and/or make up artists for our boudoir shoots in the Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion area. Recommendations and applications are very welcome: Contact Us
Q: Will your Packages & Prices be changing?
Yes – we are having a complete revamp of our packages. We want to streamline our products and make sure our packages are easier to understand. So we will still be offering wall art and printed books as well as digi packages but we will be honing our range to only offer our most popular and highest quality products.
Q: Will you still be offering the same type of shoots?
We will still be offering solo female boudoir shoots and couples boudoir shoots but not solo male shoots. Unfortunately the number of time-wasting enquiries and cancellations from the solo male sector is very high so we have decided to discontinue those shoots. We are still happy to do shoots for men who come as part of a couple, whether M/F or M/M.
We are also giving up our BodyGlow shoots as we want to streamline our services and concentrate on our most popular genres. We will carry on offering our Photographer Experience shoots as we know they will be popular with couples coming for a romantic break.
Leigh will continue to offer Nude, Erotic and Boudoir Photography Workshops and he will carry on shooting for his Tutorial Blog site too.
Q: I postponed my shoot a few months ago – will you still carry over my £100 deposit?
If you postponed your shoot within the last 12 months and we said we would carry over your deposit (because you gave us more than 4 weeks notice of the cancellation) then this is valid for shoots in our new studio. We will happily carry over the £100 towards a new booking.
Q: Can I buy a Boudoir Gift Voucher now to use for a photoshoot in Wales?
Yes, of course – we can send out a Gift Voucher for you to give as a present and you can book a date for the shoot when our diary opens. I would recommend buying a £100 Gift Voucher so you have the flexibility to let your partner choose the package that they prefer. Don’t forget our boudoir shoots in Wales will make even better presents now that we can also offer holiday accommodation for 2 in our romantic cosy cottages. You can combine the shoot with a romantic break in the stunning Welsh countryside close to the beautiful beaches of Cardigan Bay. More about Gift Vouchers.
Q: What kind of accommodation are you offering?
We have two self-contained one bedroom holiday cottages on site. They are part of a quirky barn-conversion – full of character and very cosy with wood-burning stoves. They are both equipped with a full kitchen including oven/hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. Bathrooms each have a shower and a very large double ended bath. For entertainment there is a Smart TV & DVD in each cottage and free High Speed Fibre wi-fi is included. Each cottage has its own small outdoor space as well as access to our beautiful panoramic picnic meadows with amazing views across the Teifi Valley. Our cottages are just for grown ups so perfect for couples looking for a peaceful escape away from the stresses of everyday life. See more here: Holiday Cottages Mid Wales.
Q: Are your holiday cottages just for boudoir shoot clients to stay in?
No – you don’t have to book a boudoir shoot to stay in our cottages. Once we have moved in and have taken over the property we will be able to take bookings for the cottages immediately. We would love to welcome you to this very special part of Wales – it is truly magical!
Q: Are you selling your studio in Reading?
No – we have sold our house but our studio will not be used by the new owner as a place to shoot. They are going to convert it to a massive master bedroom with ensuite shower room.
Q: I recently had a shoot with you – what will happen to my pictures when you move?
We will be keeping clients pictures safely archived for up to 6 months from the date of the shoot as usual. We always email clients before we delete their pictures to give them a last chance to buy anything. If you had your shoot in the last 6 months your pictures are safely stored in our safe and will be coming with us so you can still order extra pictures if you wish. If you would like us to delete your files before we move, or if you would like to order any extra pictures or products, get in touch now.
